Lacy Nelson is 23 years old and the daughter of fourth generation ranchers south of Ten Sleep, Wyoming. Musical from a young age, Lacy is a self-taught guitarist and natural poet. Her songs tell stories of a western, rural lifestyle, written from the perspective of a young woman spending her days on the range and nights on a stage.
She graduated from Sheridan College with degrees in both Rangeland Management and Agriculture Education, and returned to her family’s ranch until her recent move to Sturgis, South Dakota. Lacy placed 3rd in the annual Wyoming Singer-Songwriter competition with songs from her first album, “Recorded Live at the Roman Theater.”
Her 2019 summer tour took her to Nowoodstock, Red Lodge Songwriters Festival, and Wild West Songwriters Festival along with 27 other venues around Montana, South Dakota, and Wyoming. Lacy’s easy style and fresh vocals capture a vivid picture of a prairie way of life.
